Live Video Fest

Arbor
21:00–21:45
A/V Performance
Arbor is an artist and Human-Computer Interaction researcher creating experimental and experiential interfaces and prototypes with an interest in found physical and digital materials. He develops makeshift systems to transform spaces through sound and light. His works blur the boundaries between performance, installation, and artifact across diverse environments and contexts, and often yield new tools that serve as both means and forms of expression.
Pixelpunx
20:00–00:00
[Video Stammtisch]

Workshop Splinter
FR+SA 14:00–18:00 / 11:00–16:00
Splinter | Screenshot Cut-ups with TouchDesigner
In this 2-day workshop, we will explore applying the cut-up technique to digital and physical media using Splinter: a custom screenshot tool made with TouchDesigner*: www.derrekchow.com/splinter.
We will cut-up everyday found media composed of text, video, image, and the interfaces that contain them, while playing and meddling with Splinter and its context of use. By deploying this age-old technique to break apart and recombine digital media, we can produce uniquely surreal, surprising, and interesting new personal and creative expressions (e.g. www.derrekchow.com/48-days).
We will utilize Splinter as a tool of (de/re)creation, but also explore the ideas behind it. Through interwoven discussions, brainstorming, and activities, we will examine and reconfigure our contemporary relationship to screenal media and reflect on the recombinant media lineages of the cut-up.
